This'll probably be a short one, but it's one I want to remember.
Today The Rob Plays Adventure Co officially launched. I initially told myself I would be happy if I gained 2,000 subscribers in the first two days. It was an entirely arbitrary goal based on absolutely nothing. I had never launched a second channel while the first was this big, so I had no idea what to expect.
Right now it's at 1,100 and change, so it's doing pretty well.
That said, seeing a channel at 1,100 after spending the last five and a half years getting myself to 62k reminds me so much of what it felt like when I first started. It reminds me of when I run, just after I reach the halfway mark of the session. That thought of "Oh man, I have to do all that again?"
It's a tiring feeling, but it's not a bad one. I know more know than I did back when Rob Plays was at 1,100 subscribers, and hopefully that'll make this additional journey an easier one.
On top of that, I'm going into the Adventure Co treating it like a hobby. Some weeks will have the vlogs. Some will have other videos and just as many weeks will have nothing.
Weird feeling, doing YouTube as both a job and now also a hobby. It'll be interesting to see how the two develop with the two different outlooks.
